Ex-Libris Collection – Bookcase

Ex-Libris is the bookcase designed by Piero Lissoni for Porro, conceived as a true showcase for books, objects and collections. A project that goes beyond its simple storage function to create an architectural presence within the space, precise and light. The structure stems from the combination of slender vertical uprights and transparent surfaces, creating a regular rhythm that allows the objects displayed within it to take centre stage. The essential design of the structure and the presence of glass create a visual balance of solid forms and transparency, giving the bookcase an almost exhibition-like character. Ex-Libris interprets the bookcase as a space to inhabit and observe, where books and objects become an integral part of the architecture of the interior. Its transparency lightens its presence, while the precision of its construction reflects the rigorous design language of Porro. A contemporary project in which Piero Lissoni transforms an everyday function into an interior design element, capable of organising the space while also telling the story of what it contains.
