A considered restyling, defined by surfaces, volumes and bold accents of colour, creating a home with a distinctive personality
A project born from the desire to transform an already renovated home into a space that could express the personality of its owner with greater clarity. The restyling took shape around a vision of the home as a contemporary, confident and personal environment, with a distinctly masculine character and a strong focus on materiality. Without altering the existing structure, the project focused on redefining the perception of the spaces through targeted interventions in lighting, colour, surfaces and furnishings. A process of transformation and enhancement that also preserved selected existing elements, such as the white kitchen cabinetry, integrating them into a new overall vision. The result is a home in which every room contributes to a cohesive narrative, shaped by colour contrasts, richly expressive materials and sculptural forms.
Material, light and detail shaping the identity of the space
In the living area, the project finds one of its boldest expressions. The marble kitchen island introduces a deep, graphic material presence, together with the integrated Cosmic Black sink and Bora induction hob. The large Poliform sofa and Dudet chairs by Cassina, designed by Patricia Urquiola, define the space through generous volumes and intense colour. The Acerbis sideboard complements the living composition, while the Poliform coffee table completes the conversation area. The true focal point, however, is the wall housing the TV and fireplace, transformed into a bespoke feature designed to become the visual centrepiece of the home. Lighting was also reconsidered as an integral part of the project, with Flos solutions and a redistribution of light points that allows the perception of the spaces to shift throughout the day, creating different atmospheres. In the sleeping area, the interplay of material and colour continues into the master bathroom. Parquet flooring is paired with ceramic surfaces, while the Boffi vanity with a Brown Chocolate quartzite top introduces a rich colour accent echoed in other details throughout the home. A walk-in shower completes the space, combining a strong material presence with everyday comfort. The master bedroom follows the same approach, with a wall defined by a violet tone and subtle veining that enhances its sense of depth. The Minotti bed becomes another sculptural element within the composition. The combination of different brands, materials and bespoke elements is therefore a deliberate part of the design approach. Zenucchi Design Code accompanied the client throughout the selection and coordination of each element, translating personal preferences and needs into a cohesive, distinctive environment. A home that does not seek a single stylistic definition, but expresses its identity through the interplay of material, colour, light and design.
