Portfolio Milano ’93

Milano ’93 is the portfolio created in 1993 by Baleri Italia as a tribute to the research of the Gestalt avant-garde and to the season of experimentation that shaped Italian design and art from the 1960s onwards. The project brings together graphic works by some of the leading figures of this research, including Getulio Alviani, Giovanni Anceschi, Alberto Biasi, Davide Boriani, Enrico Castellani, Ennio Chiggio, Gabriele De Vecchi, Edoardo Landi, Enzo Mari, Manfredo Massironi, Bruno Munari and Grazia Varisco, alongside a wooden multiple by Gianni Colombo. The works explore perception, movement, form and space through different techniques, from screen printing and collage to relief compositions and die-cut elements, reflecting the variety of a research centred on visual phenomena and the relationship between the artwork and the observer. Printed by Renato Volpini in Milan and published in a limited edition, Milano ’93 remains a testament to Italian design culture, where art and design meet through experimentation and research into perception.
