Origata Collection – Consolle

Origata by Porro stems from the meeting of Japanese culture and contemporary design, translating the simplicity of forms into a project with a strong visual identity. Designed by Nao Tamura, the collection draws inspiration from the art of the kimono and its distinctive construction logic. As with the traditional cutting of fabric, designed to minimise waste, a thin sheet of aluminium is cut and folded along straight lines, transforming through a few essential gestures into a three-dimensional structure. The name Origata refers precisely to this idea of folding and transformation, at the heart of a project in which the material is shaped without losing its original lightness. Clean geometries and a continuous surface define a minimalist element, while colour introduces a more expressive and contemporary note. Built around the relationship between surface, fold and structure, the design is essential yet far from anonymous, revealing Porro’s ability to transform a construction technique into an aesthetic gesture. Origata is a project in which tradition and innovation meet through a precise synthesis: few elements, rigorous geometry and a material used with awareness.
