Maap W3 Collection – Wall lamp

Maap W3 by Flos, designed by Erwan Bouroullec in 2026, interprets light as a broad, immersive surface capable of transforming the wall into a luminous element. The project stems from the designer’s desire to move beyond the traditional idea of the lamp as a simple light source, creating a diffused presence reminiscent of a large cloud suspended in space. The geometric metal structure supports an ultra-lightweight and durable fibre membrane, inspired by the texture of paper, which is shaped by hand during installation. This gesture is what makes each Maap W3 unique: the surface can be gathered, folded and shaped into irregular forms, introducing an element of natural unpredictability into the rigour of the geometry. Distributed behind the membrane, the light passes softly through the material, creating an enveloping effect that conceals the individual light source and generates a continuous luminous landscape. Maap W3 thus brings an architectural approach to light into interior design, where material, space and illumination merge into a single composition.
