Eros Collection – Lounge table custom

The Eros project can be considered the second stage of the thirty-year research that, in a certain sense, began with the M tables. With Eros, the gravity joint, already present in M, becomes explicit and visible.A system of marble tables as a cornerstone of research on interlocking furniture without joints or tightenings: for the tables “Eros” the construction solution involves a gravity joint between the top and the leg, obtained thanks to the truncated cone section of the same.The configuration of this erotic tongue and groove joint (hence the name) (to quote the same words by Angelo Mangiarotti: “tongue and groove joint which fortunately still works”), it is dictated by the characteristics of the material itself and at the same time places requirements on the material itself. Eros “needs” the weight offered by marble, the Master’s favorite material, to guarantee its stability. The geometry of the truncated cone legs is the best possible to ensure correct weight distribution.
