Cenote Collection – Freestanding bathtub

Cenote by Agape, designed by Patricia Urquiola, is a bathtub with a sculptural and sensory presence, born from research into the relationship between form, material and perception. The design draws inspiration from the ancestral imagery of cenotes, ancient natural cavities shaped by water into deep and evocative places, translating their essence into a pure and contemporary geometry. The rectangular form with softly rounded ends is defined by a generous rim that enhances its solidity and sense of comfort, while the solid surface with gelcoat finish brings colour directly into the material, giving it depth and intensity. The interior and exterior can express different tactile and luminous qualities, creating a refined contrast between surfaces and volumes. Cenote thus embodies a vision of the bathroom as a sensory space, where the bathtub becomes an architectural element capable of defining the environment through an essential, material and timeless form.
