Cenote Collection – Countertop basin

Cenote is the collection of washbasins designed by Patricia Urquiola for Agape, born from research into the expressive qualities of materials and the relationship between raw and refined surfaces. The name recalls cenotes, the natural cavities typical of the Yucatán Peninsula, evoking an image of depth and natural erosion translated into an object with soft and essential forms. The outer surface, characterised by the tactile quality of refractory clay, contrasts with the glazed interior, creating a refined interplay of textures and finishes. The result is a designer washbasin where the simplicity of the form leaves room for the visual strength of the material, enhancing the tactile and authentic quality of the object. With Cenote, Patricia Urquiola interprets the washbasin as an architectural element capable of defining the bathroom space through measured proportions, essential details and a strong material identity.
