Inclusion on the Unesco World Heritage List in 2016 has sparked a great deal of interest in Le Corbusier’s Capitol Complex, an extraordinary piece of architecture built in Chandigarh in 1951 to celebrate the independence of a nation opening up to modernity. The Haute Cour, together with the Secretariat and the Assemblée building, is the founding core of the Capitol Complex in Chandigarh. In its halls there were comfortable armchairs with thick upholstery. In them we find the compositional scheme of the furniture characterised by ‘V’ type supports.
