A holiday home where design meets the simplicity of slow living
Take a single step and you can already smell the sea air. Light filters softly through the linen curtains, gently caressing the resin floors, settling on lime-plastered walls and dancing across surfaces that tell a story of materiality and care. This seafront home is the result of a bespoke renovation project by architect Emanuele Rosso of RE Design Studio, in collaboration with Zenucchi Design Code. A transformation that listened closely to the soul of the place, giving it new form without erasing its memory. The original cement tiles, carefully restored and repurposed, now define the kitchen backsplash and bathroom walls. Mutina’s celosias, designed by Patricia Urquiola, add rhythm and lightness to the space, creating soft visual separations between the entrance, living area, and double bedroom.

Authentic materials and light volumes for a new way of living by the sea
Resin flooring and lime-plastered walls wrap the apartment in a refined, neutral shell, ready to welcome design pieces and vibrant accents in blue and yellow – a nod to the natural palette of sun and sea. The Poliform kitchen flows into the open-plan living area, where a sliding artwork conceals the TV and a spiral staircase leads to the mezzanine with a small study overlooking the living space. From the custom-made wooden wardrobe — integrating a concealed door — a corridor guides you to the sleeping area: a double bedroom, a guest bathroom, and the master bedroom with its own private en suite. At the end, a French door opens onto a small, intimate courtyard where silence becomes part of the design. A home to be lived barefoot, where light sculpts the volumes, the sea enters without making a sound, and every detail speaks of balance, beauty, and calm.
