Designed in 1955, this table – a piece of furniture considered by Ico Parisi to be a central element in the home – accompanied the Maestro’s career, evolving with different materials and numerous variants for different private commissions. The Olimpino table has a slender, bold and recognisable square-section tubular metal frame consisting of two pairs of ‘Y’-shaped uprights, the inner upper arms of which converge, joining under the top heads, while the outer arms diverge, blocking, with a lateral brass latch, the rectangular top plate made of a single block of tempered glass. The legs, thus paired, are connected by a double crosspiece, also made of metal, which splits near the sides to form a double ‘V’. The arrow-shaped feet, made of solid wood, embellish the design, as do the large brass screws.
