Manuel Bonfanti, born in 1974, lives and works in Bergamo, Italy.
Manuel Bonfanti’s research started with Pop Art. In 1996, while attending the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, the artist began to create works that recall everyday objects, revisited in a playful and ironic key.
At the same time, the artist is interested in the immateriality of objects, seeking spirituality in his works.
Although the two aspects – pop and spiritual – may seem at odds with each other, for Bonfanti they are two sides of the same coin: “An object is not just a physical thing, it has a whole invisible world around it.”
